Project Purpose:
The purpose of this project is to develop and implement a Human Services Certificate Program as well as a Human Services Associate of Applied Science Degree Program that will train and educate individuals for jobs that support the delivery of a broad range of health-related services currently lacking in Great Basin College’s expansive, rural service area.

Project Service Area:
Located in the rural high desert of northeastern and central Nevada, Great Basin College’s service area covers over 60,000 square miles and includes the counties of Elko, Eureka, Humboldt, Lander, Nye and White Pine.  The area has 110,000 residents and has been classified as “frontier” with an average of less than two people per square mile, and only 5.5% of Nevada’s total population.
