Project Purpose:
The purpose of this project is to address mental health and substance abuse treatment needs and related issues for older adults, improve elder care by providing increased access to mental health and substance abuse treatment services, improve mental health status for program recipients, and reduce stigma and increase community awareness of mental health and substance abuse issues for older adults in Montgomery and Wilson counties.  The Senior Outreach Consortium’s mission is to implement innovative services with relationship development as an essential focus in achieving treatment outcomes.

Project Service Area:
Mental health and substance abuse treatment services are available through this project to older adults, age 60 or above, residing in their own homes or in assisted living facilities in Montgomery County and Wilson County, Kansas.  Financial, structural, and personal barriers, that include access and stigma problems, prevent these seniors from being served by traditional methods.
